An essential part of the distribution of goods and services, packaging papers are increasingly important in brand presentation as well as product protection.
Australian Paper’s packaging papers division is responsible for papers that go into a wide range of packaging products including retail carry bags, fast food bags and wrappers, multiwall sacks for cement and flour, cartons, corrugated carton liners, wrapping paper, point of sale and envelopes to name a few.
Our Maryvale mill manufacturers over 70 grades of packaging papers used for:
- Paper bags (33gsm to 110gsm)
- Paper sacks (65gsm to 120gsm)
- Cardboard box liners (110gsm to 290gsm)
Papers are routinely tested throughout the manufacturing process for a range of properties to ensure the paper strength, uniformity and performance are fit for purpose before being sent on for converting.
All packaging papers leave the mill in reels and are subsequently converted or transformed into a range of packaging materials you would come into contact with everyday.
With a strong focus on sustainability, all of these packaging papers are Australian Forestry Standard (AFS) certified alongside the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification).
Furthermore, our packaging papers can be made carbon neutral certified under the Australian Government’s National Carbon Offset Standard (NCOS) supporting genuine reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.
Australian Paper is the only manufacturer of bag and sack papers in Australia and the only manufacturer to offer recycled-content bag papers which are a logical alternative to other types of bags being made from 100% renewable resources as well as being recyclable itself.
Australian Paper's Food Contact Statements qualify our packaging papers are appropriately food compliant to the highest standards.
